Cocuswood Boehm system flute with german silver keywork, signed "(crown) RUDALL / CARTE & CO / 23 BERNERS STREET / OXFORD STREET / LONDON / 1827" made in 1889 (finished 21 February) by Barker and sold on 28 March 1889 to Piddock, Manchester for £28.7.0. Length 65.5cm. In original, leather covered, case containing a cleaning rod and greasebox.
4.0cm long crack in upper part of body, metal lined to take metal headjoint tenon, the direct metal to metal fitting called a Piddock fitting. Needs overhaul to be playable.
